This commemorative letter press broadside by Hullaballoo Press artists Kalia Daily and Lauren West celebrates 2018 Whirling Prize Winner in Prose, Mira T. Lee. This is a two-layer print on a very light Butcher Blue paper. It highlights the novel’s epigraph and presents hand carved butterfly wings, printed in a dark blue.

Hullabaloo Press 

Housed in the UIndy Department of Art & Design, Hullabaloo Press is comprised of graduate and undergraduate printmaking students creating personal works & client-based projects. This work is in pursuit of developing problem solving skills & their individual and unique artistic vision though a variety of traditional and innovative printmaking practices. 

About the artists:

Kalia Daily is a first year graduate student studying painting and printmaking. She graduated from UIndy in 2018 with a BFA in Studio Art with concentrations in both printmaking and painting.

Rachel West is an undergraduate student at UIndy studying printmaking and art history. She will graduate in 2020 with a BFA in studio art and a minor in art history.
